Closed Circumaural Hi-Fi Headphone These headphones are very comfortable. I had several sessions of an hour listening and had no comfort problems whatsoever. The velvet cushions have a soft texture, but firm enough to the ears of the Cup, instead of sinking in the head.

Sennheiser HD438 Closed Circumaural Hi-Fi Headphone with Enhanced Bass
I've had these headphones about a month and I feel ready for review.
If you could choose two words to describe these headphones, words immersive and natural.
I have a couple other products from Sennheiser: HD560 and EH350. Comparing the three, the HD438 is my favorite. They are easier to handle than the HD560 and better sounding and more comfortable than the EH350.

Denon PMA-250 integrated amp Powermac - Apple Lossless files
Sound Quality:
The detail is very important to me, and the HD438 does not disappoint. I hear all the little nuances in music that other smaller headsets (such as the EH350) tend to flatten out. The HD438 has a stage too big for a headset is also sealed. Instruments are well separated as well. They have good bass, better than the HD560 and EH350. I would say that the bass is neutral, not much bigger. Altos are clean and crisp but not hard anyway. These are the headphones you very much, listening sessions without fatigue. Before breaking the headset in the middle tones seemed a bit recessed, but as I entered the problem no longer exists. Music simply beautiful, immersive and detailed.
I hear a lot of electronic music, and I find very interesting and clear. Also a great jazz sound, cymbals sound very crisp and clear sound natural and other instruments. I also hear a little rock and ska, and I've been happy with his performance there. Bass is clear and strong and the other instruments sound as they should. Because it seems so natural, that are very close, as well as other styles such as folk and classical.
There is a downside of these headphones I've found (you can call it that). They are very revealing. If you have a burn or a source of bad player, you will know. I looked at some lower bitrate mp3s and AAC files (128-192kbps) hear the grain and artifacts that some other headsets without problems.
With my iPod 5.5 g, the bass is a bit low and the volume level is a bit younger than me. In my opinion, you have to climb past 75% for a reasonable volume.
With my iPod 7g, the bass is a bit fuller and there is a little more detail, separation and no room in a little more volume. I would say that 70% is where you would like to be a reasonable level.
My Denon PMA-250 has plenty of headroom. I have only to turn up the volume to 20% or 25% to reach a reasonable level. Since then it has fuller bass and louder when driving this powerful amplifier.
Overall, I think that sound as good as my HD560 audiophile, but have a profile slightly darker sound. I would say these are the headphones that will benefit from an amplifier, but is not required in most circumstances.
Design and isolation:
These headphones are very comfortable. I had several sessions of an hour listening and had no comfort problems whatsoever. The velvet cushions have a soft texture, but firm enough to the ears of the Cup, instead of sinking in the head.
These headphones are robust, with a single cable running to the left. Also included is a summary and a long cable that is easy to change depending on your needs. It also comes with an adapter 1 / 4. "At first I thought the project I was upset, but not as flashy as I thought it would be, what makes me happy.
In terms of sound isolation, to isolate a reasonable amount, but not enough to completely isolate the outside environment. They have a small amount of sound leakage, but really not much.
General:
I think this is a great pair of headphones. They come with a warranty of 2 years and have had very good luck with the quality of Sennheiser in the past. If you are looking for a great sounding closed headphones comfortable, beautiful and natural, a quality brand, would be a good choice!

These boats have become a sanctuary for this tour musician ... All the elements are there to listen to recorded music magnificently. Slip out a bit and the noise disappears. Since the music and external noises and distractions are gone, leaving only you and your music. The music plays loudly in the spectrum. I've used these cans with and without an amplifier (the Fii0 3) and I prefer the amplifier, as the volume increases and some key frequencies. The volume of the iPod has to be very close to a 90% chance of having a healthy level without hearing the amp. Of course, the level of original volume of MP4 has a lot to do with the iPod's output volume.
Right out of the box, which sound great but is a little brighter sound. I have been burning for about 24 hours and are very relaxing and ... m-e-l-l-o-w
For me, the sky was the baby's bed and put my library and listen to in hi-fi, while walking down the street (usually after falling into a deep sleep with them). That's another big point ... you can put on your back and sleep with them on because they are light and covered with artificial leather ear pad are nice and comfortable. They also come with a protective case and a golden brown extension cord (great idea!)
My only complaint is that it seems a bit fragile as it is constructed from plastic and designed to be lightweight (we all know what happens to the plastic over time.)'d Rather have a more lasting and more weight. If you sit in them, are Goners! And the cable is a set of mobile phone would. You may have to do this to keep the ohms enough to push the iPod to a speaker? I think they were trying to keep a lot of features of the tins to a laptop and still be super-hi-fi. They also look sharp on or off.
I do not think I am what some call an audiophile (I do not know of any music lovers who prefer headphones, unless they are traveling or live DJ), but I make my living playing music and also like to hear . Phones that certain frequencies of the colors, but all the audio equipment does not. That would be crazy to want to hear studio headphones or speakers to completely flat game, leaves the audio mastering engineers. These cans do not overdo the bass, which is great if you enjoy a wide variety of music, not just rap, etc. If you are heavy on bass, pick up some cans that are geared towards that. Personally it drives me crazy when listening to jazz under vertical booming. These cans do not!
Conclusion: I love these!
And for $ 100 you can not miss!

I am very happy with the sounds coming out of my low-end headphones and addressed this issue at the local big box store. Most people will recommend the Sennheiser 280 at Amazon, which are almost the same price, and apparently doing a better job.
Not having another pair I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. The build quality looks great (all plastic construction), and is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Not a nice foam padding for headphones and a nice foam padding which rests on the head. The cable must be long enough for most activities, and also includes an adapter.
For sound quality, it is "sealed cans" and not really suffer from a large effect similar headphones. Moreover, because it is essentially sealed from the outside world, very little "leakage" in and out of the headphones. This has the positive effect of not disturbing their neighbors in the library, and make sounds that play much sharper. A lack of a better term, you can "hear" the silence in a good way - no hissing or a mixture of sounds from other instruments or voices. Now, the sound quality and variety are very subjective to the listener. But for my part, the sounds are generally well represented and well reproduce the full range, and adjusted downward slightly at the end of things, but not overwhelmingly. In short there is the sound of this has not been heard in the headphones for $ 50.
In addition to portable players, I discovered that due to the impedance and the ability to block outside sounds, you can basically hear the same volume or less output, iPod or something similar.
I bought used (factory refurbished) Sennheiser HD428 headphones at all. He was my best buy of the year. For $ 19.00 I have what appears to be a new set of headphones. And good sound. I got a recording of an opera, and almost began to mourn, that sounded so good.
I used the Audio Technica ATH-A700 headphones, I like it. But I have to say that sounded even better. They have a very good sound. The only thing I think is a little weak is convenience, and Audio Technica cans are incredibly comfortable. The Sennheiser HD428s are not so comfortable, so do not use them for many hours to my headphones.
If you are considering purchasing the model used, refurbished Sennheisers that I found available on Amazon, do not hesitate.
